Face of Survival

Description

Nature is brutal, but it’s fact of life many turn a blind eye to. This is something I may never see again. This encounter involved a very determined badger, dragging the other across the road, through a ditch of water and into the field. I had minimal visualization on this quick encounter and count myself lucky I got any photos at all. Act of cannibalism to roadkill? Battle trophy? Mother with mortality injured offspring? Whatever the backstory, this badger was NOT leaving the other behind. Unfortunately it will remain a mystery to me.
